Back again

I finally have gotten different computer and am trying to get used to the 'new" micro.XP system. What a pain in the ass. I have to figure out how to get pictures into machine and to down load them..that mean down-loading the Kodak program again. So much to figure out, almost like I am a new beginner again. Till later..........

Where is everyone?

Now I know how Keith feels. I check this everyday and no one is out there, even you Keith! Dan has been not feeling well again. Could be one of many things. I am taking tomorrow off just in case I have to take him to the hospital. And am TRYING to get myself ready for my surgery. I just hope that I do not have to cancel as this old hip is really bothering me. It has been raining a lot! Puddles in the back yard are a testimony to the amount. Took the car in today to get an estimate on repairs d/t deer. That was the extend of my energy used today. Well, hope to hear from someone!!

It Aint over till it's over!

It's OVER here! I took down the outside lights and have to get the inside lights down today. It was sooo nice outside that I thought that I had better get the lights put away before I have the surgery and can not do it. Also picked up some twigs and tree litter in the front lawn that the neighbors tree spewed over the yard during a windy day (or 2). Still have a lot there but the bigger ones are gone (to a pile in one of my flower beds). It is raining today so will do inside things. Yesterday I went to Lowe's and bought glass light shade for the ceiling fan---just wanted a different look and something "new" to brighten up the area. I love Lowe's (and Home Depot) and could browse the store for hours. I went to get a halogen bulb for my light over the sink, they did not have the size I need, but could not leave empty handed---that is the curse of that type of store! Last night we watched the World Trade Center, a gift from Jason, Michelle and Fam. It is a great movie, even though I knew what the ending would be, it still was a nerve retching story of trying to save 2 men trapped inside. A must watch!! Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of my family!!!!!!!!!

Yummy

The buckwheat pancakes turned out very well, much better than I thought they would.
Lois and Bob, this pic reminds me of the lands around AW and Swan Creek when we used to take the dogs on their Christmas time walks.
Well, time to clean up the kitchen

Merry Christmas

I hope your gatherings, celebrations, or in Rita's case, time at work are safe, happy and bathed in the warmth of good cheer.
Here in Houston (at 7:00 AM) it has turned suddenly cold and blustery. I am getting ready to make buckwheat pancakes. The girls are acting like any 3 yr old on Christmas. They are all over the place playing a loud round of their favorite game of Ninja Kitty Attack.
You know, one of the coolest things about Christmas at Black Road was the arch:
The arch between the front room and the TV room. The arch where the tree was placed. For a cobbled-together old farm house, the arch was a stroke of architectual genius. The arch allowed a tree placed there to fill the house with the warm wonder of Christmas light. The smell of pine quickly followed the reach of the twinkling lights, a house transformed.
Merry Christmas.
